Role Overview

As Head of Research, you will lead Perena’s efforts in understanding the macroeconomic, regulatory, and technological forces shaping the stablecoin ecosystem. Your research will directly influence Perena’s product development, risk strategy, and market positioning. You will synthesize complex financial and quantitative insights into actionable strategies, working closely with leadership, product teams, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct deep research on stablecoins, monetary policy, and financial markets, assessing their impact on Perena’s product strategy.
• Identify and analyze industry headwinds and tailwinds, including regulatory trends, liquidity dynamics, and adoption drivers.
• Build quantitative models to assess stablecoin stability, risk factors, and potential market opportunities.
• Develop a research-driven framework for Perena’s decision-making, ensuring a strong economic and financial foundation for product-market fit.
• Engage with academics, policymakers, and industry leaders to stay ahead of emerging trends in stablecoins and digital assets.
• Present research findings internally to inform strategy, investment, and risk management decisions.
• Create and publish industry research reports and become a stablecoin & defi thought leader.
• Work closely with product, engineering, and risk teams to translate insights into product innovation.

Ideal Candidate

• Economist and/or Quantitative Researcher with experience in macro, financial markets, or digital assets.
• Strong understanding of stablecoins, crypto markets, and DeFi ecosystems.
• Deep knowledge of monetary policy, economic frameworks, and financial engineering.
